Over the past few years, the Nantes conurbation has achieved some outstanding results. It leads the way in food-processing and shipbuilding, is one of the country’s main centres in the aeronautics sector, is strategically located for the timber related industry (largest concentration of timber related businesses in Europe) and materials sector and is France’s 3rd most important financial market.
